A little about myself.

My name is Kate and I am the owner of Moonflower Apothecary. I am a disabled mother of three beautiful children (Otto, Ancil and Fern) who have special needs. Owning my small business allows me to not only provide an income for my family, but it gives me the incredible opportunity to be present for my children who have a rare disease (Beckwith-Weideman Syndrome) and autism.

My husband (Kristoff) and I have the ultimate goal of owning our own homestead where we can provide our children with generational wealth, independent living on our property (tiny homes), employment and the simple sustainable life that we have always dreamed of. In the meantime, I have been “planting seeds” for over a decade through my creative and professional endeavors.

I am an Ohio native. I grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio running barefoot through the woods, riding my bike until dark and catching crayfish in the creek at the end of my street. The little Kate inside me has always had a deep connection with nature and curiousity about her. It is in an honor to keep that magic alive and share her gifts today.

Ohio is home. Ohio is where I have planted my roots and where I have decided to raise my family. I feel incredibly blessed that I am able to share my craft, story and knowledge with my community. I hope that I can continue to build a legacy for my children for many more years to come.

Hello, kind human!

I affectionately refer to Moonflower Apothecary as my "little labor of love". My woman and disability-owned business provides a safe space for people from all different backgrounds to come together with one common goal- to heal.

I create items and experiences from nature as a love offering. I am proud to share the lessons that I have learned while swinging from trees, running barefoot through the forest, floating down rivers, dancing in the rain and climbing mountains I never thought I would climb.

I am a one woman show. I design, print and manage every aspect of my small business. I thoughtfully hand make every single item that I sell in my shop. I only use simple, pure ingredients- foraged and homegrown- the way nature intended. Each item is carefully crafted with a whole lotta love, healing intentions and a little magic here in northeast Ohio.
